LiG: Chapter Two

A man in a purple and green suit sits in a corner of an abandoned apartment. He starts to grin as he thinks of the rumors he has heard lately. "I've heard someone is new here to Gotham. I think I'll welcome them in a way they'll never forget," he tells himself out loud. He licks his lips and starts laughing like a maniac. But his laugh is unique in some way. Some men that have have masks on come out of the shadows and the man orders them to find the person and follow them for two days. "We'll give them our welcome on the third day," he tells them in a gruff voice. He starts laughing again and grabs a video camera. "Let's get this show on the road!"

After the people spread out to find the person, the man in the suit pulls his mask down over his face and starts searching his area. He starts looking at apartment windows and sees that most of the rooms are dark. He goes to the apartment with his gun and barges inside. He takes the mask off and asks the clerk with a hand holding a card, "Has anyone new checked into here?" The clerk responds with a shaky voice, "Look at the guestbook. It'll show the answer!" The clerk hands the man the guestbook shakily and cowers behind the desk. The man in the suit opens the guestbook and fingers the first name. "Is this 'Haruka' new here in Gotham?" he asks with a slight grin. The clerk stops cowering and looks at the man with a confused look on his face. He responds with a shaky voice, "I think so. But I'm not sure. Sorry to ask this sir, but why do you wanna see Miss Haruka?" The man in the suit licks his lips and responds with a big grin, "I have a 'date' with her. So...could I get the closest room I can that's near hers?" He starts laughing and puts the card into a pocket. The clerk shivers again and hands the man in the suit a key. "Your room is left of Miss Haruka's room," the clerk tells the man while cowering behind the desk. He looks at the man in the suit and tells him, "Don't worry about paying for the room! I'll tell my managers that someone famous is here!"

The man in the suit laughs and heads to his room. He calls his thugs over the radio to get to his location quickly. As he arrives at the room, he sees a girl exiting the room right of his. They give each other a quick glance and continue going their ways. After she is a few feet down the hallway, the man turns around and whistles softly. He tells himself, "My,my...."
